A Healthier Dubai Chocolate You Can Make at Home
With just a few ingredients and a special mould, these chunky bites are a chocolate-lovers heaven!
You have probably heard of the viral Dubai chocolate by now?
You know the one—rich, luxurious, and filled with gooey nut butter and sticky sweetness. They feel so indulgent… but if you’re anything like me, you might want a version that still feels special but leaves you feeling good afterwards too.
So I started playing around in the kitchen, and I’ve landed on a healthier homemade version that’s genuinely satisfying—no sugar crash, no guilt, no weird ingredients. Just chocolatey, nutty goodness in every bite.
And the best part? They’re ridiculously easy to make. By all means feel free to add your own extras, but if you’re looking for a really simple recipe, just follow this one!
🍫 What You’ll Need
- 220g of good-quality dark chocolate (I go for at least 80% cocoa)
- A few spoonfuls of your favourite nut butter (almond, peanut, cashew… the runnier the better!)
- A drizzle of maple syrup or date syrup (you can adjust to taste)
- This mould
🧡 Why I Love These
This is a serioulsy rich and satisfying chocolate bar! It is thick and chunky, and I doubt you’ll manage more than one square at a time (okay.. maybe two).
It’s made with real ingredients that give you that “treat” feeling without triggering that out-of-control, just-one-more spiral.
They’re also naturally gluten-free and can easily be made vegan depending on the chocolate you choose.
Plus, there’s something really fun about making your own chocolates. Especially when they look this good…
A Chocolate Mould
I highly recommend investing in a proper chocolate mould. You can find silicone ones online in all sorts of shapes. I use this one and it gives the perfect size and snap.
How to Make Healther Dubai Chocolate
- Melt the chocolate using a double boiler
- Spoon half the chocolate into the mould (keep the other half warm)
- Pop the mould in the freezer for 10+ minutes to set the shell.
- Mix the filling – nut butter + a little syrup until smooth and gooey.
- Spoon a small amount of the filling into the mould.
- Top with the remaining melted chocolate and smooth over with a spoon.
- Freeze or refrigerate until set—about 30 minutes.
- Pop it out and enjoy!
You can add all sorts of extras, like chocolate chips, rice crispies, mini marshmallows, whole nuts… but I just keep it simple.
Making Your Own Nut butter

Easy Homemade Nut Butter
Ingredients:
- 2 cups raw (almonds, cashews, pistachios, peanuts, etc.)
- Optional:
- ½ tsp salt
- 1–2 tsp honey or maple syrup (for a touch of sweetness)
- 1–2 tsp neutral oil (like sunflower or avocado oil) if needed for consistency
- You can also add additional flavours like cinnamon and vanilla
Instructions:
- Toast :
Toast nuts in a dry pan or oven (180°C / 350°F) for 5–10 minutes. This helps release natural oils and adds flavour. KEEP YOUR EYE ON THEM, they easily burn. - Cool slightly:
Let them cool for a few minutes so they’re warm but not hot. - Blend:
Add nuts to a food processor or high-speed blender. Blend for 1–2 minutes until they form a coarse meal, then scrape down the sides. - Keep going:
Continue blending (it might take 5–10 minutes total), stopping to scrape down as needed. The nuts will go from crumbly → clumpy → smooth and creamy. - Adjust:
Add a pinch of salt and sweetener or oil if desired. Blend again to combine. - Store:
Transfer to a jar and store in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
